On April 30th CBS releases Star Trek: The Next Generation Season 3 remastered on Blu-ray. During the first and second season of Star Trek: TNG we watched as the show went through its growing pains. There are some gems in the first two seasons but the series really begins to shine in season three. Gates McFadden as Beverly Crusher is brought back into the cast. Overall in season three the cast and crew as a whole really seem to come together and produce some great Star Trek for the fans. There are some great episodes in this season including Deja Q, Yesterday’s Enterprise, Sins of the Father, Sarek and The Best of Both Worlds – Part 1. CBS has done some a pretty good job with the remaster project overall. There were some QC issues with season two. You can read about those issues by going HERE. I am sure CBS has resolved those issues with season three. Overall the end result has been stunning. You can see more pictures and video HERE.

On April 25th, 2013 Fathom events is presenting both parts of The Best of Both Worlds in cinemas nationwide. They are presenting both parts restored in High Definition on the big screen. They usually include some special features as well that are fun to watch. I have been going to the Fathom Star Trek specials since they did their first presentation for Star Trek previewing the remastered original series. These events are fun to go to and it is really cool to see Star Trek: TNG on the big screen. Click HERE for more information about Fathom’s special Star Trek presentation.
